How do I register a new case?

Navigate to the 'Register New' tab. Choose between 'Court Matter' or 'Non-Court' advisory files, fill in the details, and click 'Register Case Record'.

Can I import existing Excel data?

Yes. Use the 'Smart Copy-Paste Import' box in the Register tab. Paste a single row from your spreadsheet to auto-populate the fields instantly.

Diary vs To-Do: What is the difference?

Diary is for official court proceedings and dates. To-Do is for your internal administrative tasks and deadlines required to prepare for those dates.

How do I update multiple files quickly?

Use the 'Log Update' button directly on any Case Card. This opens a 'Quick Update' modal to log proceedings without leaving the main file list.

Security & Client Collaboration

Is my practice data secure?

Yes. VakilView uses industry-standard Firebase encryption. Data is strictly isolated to your unique generated Portal ID and inaccessible to others.

What do clients see in shared links?

Clients see a read-only "Case Summary" including status and history. They cannot see your professional fees, private notes, or other files.

Is the WhatsApp Update automated?

The portal generates the professional summary for you, but you must tap 'Send' in WhatsApp. This keeps you in full control of client communication.

How does the QR Scanner work?

Every case has a digital ID. Use the scanner icon near the search bar to scan a VakilView case QR code and pull up its details instantly.

Billing & Subscriptions

How do I upgrade my plan?

Select a plan in the 'Profile' or 'Pricing' tab. Follow the UPI instructions and provide your 12-digit UTR ID. Verification usually takes less than 4 hours.

Can I edit documents before printing?

Yes. The Document Studio features a 'Live Editor'. Click on any text within the Vakalath, Invoice, or Docket preview to modify it before printing.

What happens after the 30-day trial?

Advanced tools (Excel export, PDF reports, Smart Documents) will lock. However, your core Case Diary and Registry will remain accessible for free.

Does the Invoice tool calculate taxes?

The Invoice Studio generates a flat-fee professional bill. You can use the Live Editor to manually add GST or miscellaneous charges as needed.

Open the portal in Chrome (Android) or Safari (iOS). Tap the browser menu/share icon and select 'Add to Home Screen'. The portal will now function like a dedicated mobile app.
